Qatar - That was the trip (pics)Hi,Before we get to our Roadtrip here some pictures of us being at the InlandSea once again:
Sophie and Nicolai enjoyed it as usual whilst we were hanging out relaxing. Now we come to our trip. Exciting to be able to get out of the country by land. We left our house at around 5:30 in the morning and got perfectly into very bad fog which slowed us down pretty much till the Saudi border. The border crossing was surprisingly easy. Most of it can be done without getting out but then the Saudis are taking fingerprints and pictures when you enter which is however also combined with the customs inspection of the car. Saudi itself is similar to Qatar (how can it not be) but a bit dirtier. After a bit more then an hour we arrived at the border to the UAE and that crossing was also straight forward. I forgot to take a picture of Angela in her Abaya :) Then we arrived at Al Ruwais where our hotel was. Now some pictures of our stay: 20
All over a very nice relaxing stay with some new things to see. It also gave us a bit more of a feeling that we are still free and that you can actually leave the country without having to by an airticket. The way back to Qatar was even easier and took us only 4h 30m. Martin |
