In late 2000 my good friend Christoph Fink finally finished his PhD. We spent several
years studying together, and he spent 4 more years working on this wonderful title. So when he had his final exam and the
mandatory party afterwards I came down to Munich to celebrate with him! Here are a few images from that...

Before the exam he had to present the results of 4
years' worth of research to the scientific community. I don't exactly recall everything he said, but I remember being damn
proud of myself for understanding everything! ;-P

Here you see the 3 most important women in Christoph's life: His mother, his
wife (well, actually, by then she was still his girlfriend) Sabine and his sister Barbara. They're patiently waiting for the
end of his final exam...(as we all were). |

This is after the exam - everybody was waiting for the result. Christoph was, of
course, confident, and his mood was pretty good at the time. Well, the fact that he finally had a beer in his hands helped,
too! |

And the winner is...Dr. Fink! He passed (well, how
could he not? ;-) and his professors were happily telling the crowd how smart he is. Of course, nobody believed them - we know
you, Christoph! |

Then he received his very own special doctor's hat which he was forced to wear
